Market setup
Working bias: cautious to negative, with a possible early rebound attempt but high risk of sell-on-rise unless the indices reclaim resistance decisively.
- NIFTY 50: previous close 23,063.10. Key support 23,000; below that, 22,700–22,500 becomes the next risk zone. Immediate resistance 23,200–23,300.
- Bank Nifty: previous close 55,438. Key support 55,000–54,900; below 54,900, weakness can extend toward 54,500. Immediate resistance 55,900–56,000.
- Volatility: India VIX rose sharply to about 12.68, so intraday swings may remain wider than recent sessions.
Pre-market cues
GIFT Nifty is around 23,100–23,105, suggesting a flat-to-marginally positive start rather than a strong gap. Global cues remain mixed, while elevated crude oil and US bond yields keep the broader risk environment cautious.
Institutional flows were also mixed: FIIs were net sellers by about ₹5,027 crore on 24 September, while DIIs were net buyers by about ₹4,301 crore.
